Newcomers and Visitors

This is a page for newcomers and visitors to HUU. We're glad that you found your way to our web site and hope you will continue on your journey and join us for our regular Sunday morning service.

Come As You Are - There is no dress code, so please feel free to come as you are most comfortable. A few people may come dressed up, while others are very casual wearing t-shirts and jeans or shorts. We are more interested  in what's inside you rather than on what you wear.

What to Expect on Your First Visit to the Harrisonburg Unitarian Universalists

Our Church is located on Route 33 West approximately 4 miles from the city center. It is the old Dale Enterprise Schoolhouse building. (More detailed directions and a picture of our church)

Our service is held every Sunday morning year round starting at 10:30am. Services last approximately one hour. Our Sunday Services page will give you an idea of what we talk about on Sunday morning and you can read some of our more current sermons and talks on our blog Community Cafe.

Our Children's Religious Exploration page will give you some information on our children's programs.

A smiling, friendly face will greet you as you enter our building and give you an order of service. The "greeter" can help you get acquainted with others and can answer questions you may have about the church. That person can also point you to more information on Unitarian Universalism.

We welcome all visitors and friends to join us after the service for coffee in our Community Café where you can learn more about who we are and how you might be involved in our Unitarian Universalist community. If you happen to visit on the first Sunday of each month, you can join us for potluck. We always have plenty of food so don't let not having brought something stop you from staying.
